On the edge of the dramatic wilderness of Oxley Wild Rivers National Park, this 613 acre holding offers a truly unique combination of natural beauty, stunning rural living and endless potential.
At its heart is a striking, contemporary four-bedroom residence, completed in 2022 and offering total off-grid independence. Designed to embrace its extraordinary setting, the home is bathed in ever-changing natural light and combines recycled timbers, natural stone, bespoke finishes and expansive glazing, with mesmerising views from every room, inviting the outside in.
Stepping through the entrance into the main living space, a spectacular panorama across the gorge and to the distant mountains is framed by a soaring 3.3-metre wall of glass, with burnished concrete floors opening onto extensive ironbark decks. A handcrafted entrance door by renowned artist Emma Davies, a substantial granite fireplace sourced from the property, and other carefully curated interiors add to the home's individual character.
The generous kitchen with single-slab timber bench tops and open-plan living areas flow naturally to outdoor entertaining spaces, creating a seamless and intimate connection with the surrounding landscape, perfect for a quiet morning coffee or lively evening with guests. Wildlife grazes within metres of the home.
Four spacious bedrooms each enjoy views and deck access, while the master retreat features a luxurious ensuite with open shower and deep soaking bath positioned to take in sunsets or the night sky. A separate wing with bedrooms and an additional living space provides flexibility for family, guests or multigenerational living, complemented by two dedicated office spaces suited for remote work.
The property is supported by substantial state-of-the-art off-grid infrastructure backed up with an automated diesel generator ensuring peace of mind, and high-speed Starlink connectivity with an ample 160,000 litres of rain water storage. Double glazing, ceiling fans, a passive solar design and reverse-cycle air conditioning ensure efficient climate control and year-round comfort.
Half the property comprises the natural beauty of heavily timbered bushland and granite boulders secured under a Biodiversity Conservation Trust agreement in perpetuity. This provides an excellent indexed passive income while protecting an environment of exceptional ecological significance. It is rich in flora and fauna including the rare Beadle's Grevillea, rock orchids, endangered brush-tailed rock wallabies and myriad birds.
The balance comprises approximately 300 acres of native pasture with established fencing, seven dams and access to Spring Camp Creek, providing opportunities for grazing or other enterprises.
With around 4 kilometres of gorge frontage and private access 500m from the home, secluded walking and riding trails, picnic spots, seasonal waterfalls and abundant wildlife, the property offers complete privacy and an extraordinary immersion in nature. This retreat is an easy 30 minute drive to Armidale, with its schools, university, cultural life and amenities. A school bus operates from the end of the road, while Armidale Airport provides convenient connections to Sydney and Brisbane.
This unique opportunity is for those seeking something beyond the ordinary; a true sanctuary, surrounded by the New England's most breathtaking wilderness.
