17 Lochner Street

Imagine a private oasis close to the City Centre on 877M2 and comprised of four individual titles, where you can stand in the established gardens under the spreading Walnut tree, and think you are way out in the country. The beautiful old house has seen better days, but it is ready for an energetic renovator to revive her to her former glory. Already rewired this circ 1880’s is the original farmhouse and used to have an orchard extending down to Warwick Street (hence the orientation of the house). The house is pretty much original with 4 bedrooms (including two Dorma bedrooms) and lovely front verandah, a formal lounge, and a formal dining room. The big wide floorboards are begging to be polished, and it has some beautiful Mantels, staircase, and ornate ceiling rosettes. The land extends via a private walkway to Browne Street which would give you easy access to the City and the North Hobart Restaurant Strip. You won’t find another house this pristine on such a magnificent garden and if you trimmed some trees, you would even get a City and Water - Harbor View. Admittedly not for the faint hearted but the potential and opportunities are immense, with development opportunities STCA also being a possibility. Act fast as you will not come across a unique property like this for a long time, call Elle or Neville Crowther for your private inspection today!
