Welcome to Mattiske Road, Tanunda, an exquisite lifestyle property in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Just minutes from Tanunda and only 50 minutes from Adelaide, this 7-acre estate has been lovingly held by the same family for 45 years. It masterfully combines rural tranquillity with sophisticated, stylish country living. Previous owners compelled by art, wine and gardening say farewell to an enviable Barossa family home.
The renovated and restored homestead, dating back to the mid-1880s, offers a spacious haven filled with character and charm. It features five generously sized bedrooms, two bathrooms, an office, a wine cellar, and two inviting living spaces. A cozy reading room with an open fireplace provides a peaceful retreat with garden views. The main bedroom includes a large ensuite with a full-sized bath and French doors opening onto the garden. The additional four bedrooms, each uniquely styled, offer equally serene garden outlooks.
The kitchen is a Barossa foodie’s delight, equipped with premium modern appliances with also the option of a wood-fired oven for breads and slow cooked meals, and a marble-topped island bench. Additional features include a walk-in pantry, a restored wine cellar, a home office with NBN and satellite connectivity, and a separate, freestanding studio with a storage attic.
Outside, the meticulously maintained property features diverse gardens, a productive olive grove (ideal for oil production), a chook house, a workshop, and several sheds for storage. Undercover parking accommodates up to four cars. The iconic Morton Bay Fig Tree, planted over 150 years ago, enhances the picturesque landscape, complemented by a sculpture walk and native flora.
Historically known by locals as 'Stonewell Farm', this gorgeous lifestyle property presents a rare opportunity to embrace a new way of country living and owning an enviable piece of Barossa Valley history.
