Freshly renovated for a fabulous inner city lifestyle, this north facing three bedroom apartment brings together period character and superb contemporary function in a unique heritage setting on Elwood’s fringe. Located on the top/first floor, its beautifully bright generous proportions are one of only 8 apartments in the cleverly converted St Kilda Dispensary c.1940, the British Empire’s first combined medical clinic and dispensary, positioned between Carlisle Street and the Bay.
Accessed via a secure street entry, original personality remains in high ceilings with decorative cornices, textured plaster walls, a box bay window and broad double sash windows that capture abundant natural light throughout. Hardwood timber floors form the smart backdrop for free flowing spaces that move effortlessly from sun filled living and dining rooms, each with marble fireplaces, to an open kitchen elegantly equipped with marble benchtops and Bosch appliances, and out to a charming L-shaped balcony perfect for breakfast or cocktails surrounded by festoon lighting and leafy outlooks. Three bedrooms, all with robes, are served by a simply divine bathroom featuring walk in shower, heated floor, open laundry and separate WC whilst a long list of other highlights includes attic storage with ladder, split heating/cooling, intercom entry and secure parking.
Enjoy exceptional convenience with renowned St Kilda Dispensary café at the doorstep, Carlisle Street shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, three tram lines, trains, St Kilda Botanic Gardens and St Kilda Primary all within a short stroll and Acland Street, the foreshore and iconic St Kilda Beach within walking distance. An absolute delight!
