Some homes have a story to tell. Others have been thoughtfully reimagined to create an entirely new one. At 31 Mole Avenue, the two come together beautifully.
Originally one of Chirn Park's early farm homesteads, this remarkable residence carries a sense of history and character that simply cannot be replicated. Now, through an exceptional architectural renovation designed by renowned Gold Coast building designer Stuart Osman, the home has been given an entirely new chapter, one that respects its origins while introducing a level of sophistication, functionality and architectural consideration rarely found in character homes.
Known for his considered approach to residential architecture, Stuart Osman's influence is evident in the way the home has been transformed. Rather than allowing the original character to dictate the limitations of the space, the design embraces its heritage and builds upon it. Carefully considered transitions, an abundance of natural light and a remarkable connection between indoor and outdoor spaces create a home that feels entirely cohesive, where every element has its place and purpose.
Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the renovation is the home's extraordinary sense of flow. Where traditional character homes can often feel compartmentalised, Osman's design introduces an effortless connection between spaces without sacrificing the warmth, charm and individuality of the original residence. There is a natural rhythm to the way the home unfolds, balancing intimate spaces with expansive areas designed for gathering, entertaining and everyday living.
Every bedroom opens directly onto a beautiful sunlit deck, a thoughtful architectural feature that strengthens the relationship between the home and its outdoor environment. Morning light filters through the spaces, while the ability to open each bedroom to the outdoors brings a wonderful sense of freedom and connection to everyday life.
As the sun begins to set, the home reveals another side of its personality. Considered lighting illuminates the architectural details and outdoor spaces, transforming the residence into a warm and inviting retreat. It is during these hours that the home's design truly comes to life, creating an atmosphere that is equally suited to quiet evenings at home or entertaining on a grander scale.
The expansive outdoor entertaining area is a defining feature of the property. Generous in its proportions and beautifully integrated with the home's living spaces, it provides an exceptional setting for long lunches, relaxed afternoons and evenings spent with family and friends. The seamless transition between inside and out makes entertaining feel completely natural, with the architecture working to bring people and spaces together.
Beyond the home itself, the address is equally compelling. Positioned along Mole Avenue, one of Chirn Park's most admired and tightly held streets, the property enjoys a location synonymous with established character homes, leafy surroundings and an enviable village lifestyle. Chirn Park's cafés, restaurants and local favourites are just moments away, with the Broadwater, parklands and central Southport all within easy reach.
