Making a bold statement on a blue-chip beachside street, this benchmark family home is a showcase of quietly surprising design. Custom-crafted, architect-designed and bespoke-detailed, this five bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home is like no other - with a surprising hint of the home’s period origins, a sun-soaked fully-tiled heated pool amongst the vines of the walled garden, and a ‘secret’ gate direct to Royal Avenue Park!
Bringing a unique edge to today’s triple zone family living with decoratively-ceilinged, bay-windowed formal lounge and dining rooms echoing the home’s past, and a vast family zone soaring to a towering light filled void, the home steps out to a parkside al fresco zone and up to a third living (or work-from-home) zone in a glass-edged mezzanine. Abundantly accommodating with queen-sized robe-fitted bedrooms, there’s an immense master-suite (with dressing-room and dual-vanity ensuite) and a choice of similarly luxe family bathrooms – all with in-floor heating, one with a second freestanding bath.
Utterly uncompromising with an elite mix of Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances (including fridge and wine-fridge) for the state-of-the-art family kitchen, there’s a brilliant butler’s pantry with Miele dishwasher, a family-wise laundry with drying cabinet and the ultimate mud-room with garage access. There’s even a rare walk-down cellar and multiple attic storage areas.
Detailed in high-impact style with hardwearing Super White Dolomite benchtops for kitchen and utility areas, Oak veneer cabinetry, and noise-controlling double-glazed solid steel doors delineating the zones, the home has a sculptural fishbone stair centre-stage and smooth polished aggregate paving outside. Climate controlled with a fireplace for each of the main living zones (one open, one gas), there’s the security of an alarm and intercom entry, and the ease of auto-blinds and awnings, sound-wiring and ducted vacuum.
Set in a fully-reticulated landscape with vegie boxes to harvest and lawns for play, there’s also auto-gated parking for four cars including a double auto-garage. Just two blocks from the track to Edward St beach and 250m to Firbank/BGS’s Junior School Sandringham House, this substantial family home has village shopping and the station within a walk, the tennis courts and parklands at the back gate…and a unique approach to family living at one of Sandringham’s best beachside addresses.
