Beside the Sandringham Club, on the edge of Sandringham village and just steps from the beachfront, this ground-breaking design from Aych Architecture and Precision Projects exceeds even the expectations of its MBAV-awarded House of the Year title.
A design purist’s dream home, this three bedroom plus home-office, 3.5 bathroom home showcases 5 Star resort-villa style with a seamless flow inside-to-poolside through a wall of slide-away glass, and a pair of ground-floor suites providing unparalleled guest accommodation. But it’s the 90sqm first-floor ‘presidential-suite’ that raises the home to 6 Star status – with a free-flowing plan spilling from an open-plan library-office, past a dual-vanity ensuite (with full concrete cabinetry), to a vast dressing-room and palm-fringed bedroom.
Putting an elite Miele appliance kitchen (with induction cooktop and Liebherr wine-display fridge) centre-stage, and an al fresco kitchen (with marine-grade teppanyaki plate and dual rhino fridges) in the all-weather entertaining area, the home is as beautifully detailed inside as out. With restrained Permatimber and painted-brick façade against the backdrop of a riotous ‘hanging-garden’ (auto-watered and auto-fed) from Vertiscape, the home shines with all-day north sun across a glass-tiled, auto-clean, solar panel-heated pool, and a quiet kitchen garden with vegie box and BBQ.
Endlessly innovative with artisan concrete (from benchtops, to cabinetry, to auto-awninged daybed) from Boyd Alternatives and Hungry Wolf Studios, the home meets a demanding specification with super-wide blonde Oak flooring, streamlined squareset and shadow-line architectural detail, and imported veneer joinery – including a media-wall for living, full-height library area for the home-office, and a collage of display-shelving in sight of the principal bed.
With in-slab hydronic heating supplemented by ductless zoned climate-control from Metrocool, the home’s demanding specification includes the energy-efficiency of privacy-tinted commercial double-glazing and auto window-furnishings, plus the security of CCTV, video intercom and keyless entry. Offering in-ceiling Sonos-sound for harmony, there’s even double auto-garaging with storage for peace of mind.
The Sandringham Club’s only neighbour on the north-side of this Gipsy Village address, the home enjoys a better-than-beachfront position – set tranquilly 100m back from the beachfront, no more than 200m to Sandringham village, and a stroll to the station, sand and Yacht Club.
