197 Marine Drive

Showcasing unhindered water views across the Bay to the Heads, thanks to its unique elevated position directly opposite Safety Beach’s iconic ‘whale bones’ and Tassells Cove, this classic circa-1940s beach house graces a 964*-square-metre corner block, with a broad northerly rear aspect and dual driveway access. Being offered for sale for the first time in around 40 years, the property’s rare and prized location, neighbouring the world-class facilities of Martha Cove Marina, inspires so much potential, with future options including to refresh and rent out, to renovate and enjoy as a luxe beach retreat, or to rebuild as a Peninsula dream home (STCA). Steeped in character and history ‘Charong’ has been cherished as a seaside retreat for many generations. The well-maintained two bedroom single-level timber cottage is rich in old-world charm with polished hardwood floorboards flowing through the light-filled central living/dining/kitchen area with raked ceilings and a picture-window framing blue-water vistas. There is a separate timber studio/garden shed in the lovingly landscaped cottage gardens incorporating an expansive lawn area that showcases the block’s almost quarter-acre size. Additional features include plenty of off-street parking with dual in/out driveways with access from Bruce Road, plus a carport, an undercover entry verandah, an electric wall heater, and split-system heating/cooling. This relaxed Mornington Peninsula lifestyle neighbourhood is a short stroll to the sands and bathing boxes of Tassells Cove dog beach, Safety Beach Sailing Club, Martha Cove Marina, Provincia Food Store, and local favourite Café De Sol, while also being close to shopping at Dromana Hub and offering easy Peninsula Link freeway access.
