This amazing offering is quintessential Nimbin living – a 'small footprint' home on a beautiful small acreage, partly returned to indigenous rainforest. There is so much on offer here, beginning with the fact that the property can be subdivided. There's mains power and a small solar supply for lighting in the compact but comfortable council approved dwelling.
This 1 x bedroom, 1 x bathroom, 1 x garage home has a big entertaining patio which takes advantage of the wide open spaces and views. It has polished hardwood floors and pot lighting throughout, air conditioning, gas cooking (benchtop only) and gas hot water and features a fabulous big slow-combustion stove unit. Storage is taken care of with an external container and a 6 x 5m garden shed. The container is levelled, insulated and is fully shelved.
The exterior of the building & circular driveway is surrounded by a beautifully constructed sandstone retaining wall work by a respected local artisan, and the driveway is gravelled (with 2 large piles of gravel supplied and ready for you to keep it maintained). There's also a long concrete block retaining wall around whole yard giving the home a flat expanse for the kids to play.
Not only is this property in a desirable location close to the village, the 4 acres gently slopes to creek, and has views of mountains over & through the treetops. But the real delight and value in this property is undoubtedly the grounds. There are beautiful gardens around the home (including over 200 new plantings) opening out to wide areas of lawn, then meandering down to the remainder of the property; regenerated mature rainforest around the creek's riparian zone. This was professionally prepared and planted on the South-East at least 15 years ago w/ second planting 4 years ago – over 2,000 plantings from an indigenous species list. And overlooking the forest and creek is the cutest secluded one-room cottage with a covered verandah.
Food trees are not forgotten either, planted on the North (all mature) in great alluvial / red soil – including Pecan, macadamia, mango, citrus, starfruit, white mulberry and jaboticaba. The property is also the perfect aspect and soils for permaculture.
