It’s hard to believe you’re on the fringe of the city when you hear the morning song of magpies and kookaburras perched in the gum tree canopies along the banks of the nearby Barwon River. Perched on a large corner block on the high side of the street, this home is perfectly placed to take full advantage of the river, walking tracks, parks and Queens Park Golf Course. And, in the other direction are some of Geelong’s best private schools and Shannon Avenue and Pakington Street shops, restaurants and boutiques. This three-bedroom brick home is ready to move in and enjoy or would blossom with a touch of imagination and flair. It features a large balustrade front verandah, split-level floor plan, spacious entrance hall and a generous living/dining zone with large bay window and gas-fired fireplace. The living and bedroom areas all have high-pile carpets. The kitchen overlooks the back garden and has a second eating area, built in ovens, gas cooktop, dishwasher and lots of cupboards. Up a few steps are the three bedrooms, two with BIRs, a tiled family bathroom with bath, vanity and shower and separate toilet. One bedroom, with a large north-facing bay window, would make a perfect study. The mature, tiered garden has a lock-up workshop and paved courtyard with brick barbecue. A double carport is at the side of the home.
