Steps from Moondah Beach and taking in a breathtaking panorama of the bay from Mornington Harbour to Melbourne’s city skyline, this is a unique opportunity to create the ultimate seaside lifestyle by re-imagining the existing limestone residence or starting again and building a stunning new home on this blue ribbon 1,526sqm (approx) site.
Inspired by famed Mexican mid-century modernist architect Luis Barragan, the striking brutalist-style home with large entertaining terraces and a roof height that exceeds allowable limits today, there is scope for a clever re-design and renovation to take full advantage of the grandstand views of the bay.
Inside, the residence offers a distinctly modernist yet rustic theme with towering ceilings, white-washed exposed beams and slate floors, rising up over three levels to an enormous rooftop terrace.
Beside the entry level are two large bedrooms with ensuites and his and hers walk-in robes either side of a grand foyer and a spiral staircase that rises up to the main level where sprawling living and dining spaces are large enough to host any occasion and open to northern and southern terraces – ensuring there’s always a sheltered spot to enjoy the view.
A spectacular home office with a towering vertical window, bay views and access to the northern terrace also features on the main level, while the separate kitchen has stainless-steel appliances and room for a banquet table as well as doors at either end opening to the rear garden.
Steps from Kunyung Primary School and a short drive to Mt Eliza village, call your builder and architect now to unlock the potential of this superb site.
