This symmetrical cottage, built in 1910 and standing on a generous town allotment of some 1020 m2 has, to coin a phrase, seen better days. But it is ready for restoration to return it to its former glory.
The bones are solid. There are four main rooms complete with original fireplaces while over the years additional rooms were added at the rear.
The township of Morgan was proclaimed in 1878 and was named after the then Chief Secretary Sir William Morgan who went on to become the Premier of South Australia. It became the second busiest port in the State. Wool was unloaded on the massive wharf and transported to Adelaide. As many as six trains a day brought freight in and then took the wool to the sea at Port Adelaide.
Many of the historic and heritage listed buildings still grace the town. Nowadays, however, Morgan is more of a river playground. Less than 2 hours from Adelaide it is a welcoming community.
Looking for a project, this cottage deserves your attention and your TLC.
