An authentic piece of Middle Park history, this remarkable warehouse conversion—initially constructed in 1898 by a local boat builder—has evolved through the decades into a residence of rare pedigree and sophistication. From its origins as a boat builder’s yard to a production warehouse, a 1970s underground nightclub, and later a renowned photography studio, the property’s storied past imbues every inch of this spectacular home with character and intrigue.
Masterfully reimagined over three sprawling levels, with approximately 437 sqm of internal living, the conversion showcases rustic characteristics, including exposed timber trusses, extraordinary solid brick walls, skylights and grand ceiling heights and voids, all skillfully integrated to highlight the building’s industrial roots. Inside, the open-plan living and dining zones connect seamlessly with poolside entertainment areas via walls of glass, creating a rare blend of private, sunlit spaces. The state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen with twin Liebherr integrated fridge/freezers, high-end European appliances, and a Miele wine cabinet is orientated for seamless hosting, extending outdoors to an in-built BBQ kitchen ideal for grand-scale entertaining.
Each level reveals curated spaces for modern family living, with a formal lounge, an upstairs retreat with breathtaking city views from a substantial decked terrace, and the upper-floor primary suite; an indulgent sanctuary with spa ensuite, bespoke cabinetry, and vistas stretching over the bay and city skyline. Enhanced with new solid oak flooring, reverse cycle air conditioning, video intercom access, secure remote gates to the front, and parking for two cars to the rear via right of way, it represents an illustrious balance of heritage charm and contemporary luxury.
Perfectly positioned within the Albert Park College zone, steps from Middle Park Primary, Albert Park Lake, and MSAC, this home is as much a testament to refined living as it is to the area’s vibrant history.
