44 Blyth Parade, GREAT BAY TAS 7150

It’s just a short walk to a safe swimming beach – and only 15 minutes on a good sealed road to the ferry. Some careful landscaping of this elevated bush block will open up very attractive views over Great Bay and beyond across the Channel to the Wellington Range. The north-facing aspect guarantees sunshine and native bird life is abundant, with mature eucalypts providing habitat. There is ample space to build on the lower part of the land – or you might consider a pole house, floating out over the bush in the steeper upper section. Both side boundaries of the block have been slashed to assist with access and to enable a new owner to picture the possibilities. Great Bay is a quiet North Bruny community of residents, shack owners and short-term accommodation operators – this block has the potential to fit into any of these uses. The Roberts Point ferry terminal is just 15 minutes away on a good sealed road. Close by are several of the island’s favourite spots for people who love fine local produce – oysters from Get Shucked; cheese, artisan bread and craft beer from the Bruny Island Cheese Company; the sweet delights at Bruny Island Honey. Great Bay has safe and sheltered beaches for swimming, snorkelling, sailing and fishing. The ten-kilometre stretch of Neck Beach – recently named in the top 10 Australian beaches – is a few minutes to the south. Further on are the shops and services of Alonnah and Adventure Bay. Keep heading south to find the famed surf breaks of Cloudy Bay and the historic Cape Bruny Lighthouse. Realistically-priced vacant land is becoming scarce on Bruny Island – this block is well worth your consideration.
