With Arthurs Lake on the doorstep and the rugged beauty of the Central Highlands surrounding you, it’s the kind of place where mornings can start with a fishing rod in hand and evenings are spent tucked up inside while the temperature drops outside.
Inside, the shack offers a warm and welcoming layout with three bedrooms, giving you plenty of room for family, friends or the extra weekend guests who are bound to arrive once they discover your little escape. The living area forms the heart of the shack, with the kitchen and dining spaces close by to keep everything easy and relaxed.
There’s nothing complicated about life here – and that’s exactly the appeal. It’s comfortable, practical and made for weekends where schedules disappear and the only real decision is whether to head out on the lake or stay put and enjoy the peace.
Outside, the fully fenced yard adds another layer of practicality, offering a secure space for pets, children or simply enjoying the fresh Highland air. The garage and adjoining carport provide valuable room for vehicles, the boat, fishing gear and all the toys that naturally come with a Central Highlands getaway.
And while it feels wonderfully tucked away, you’re not completely off the grid – the local roadhouse is less than a kilometre up the road for fuel, food and everyday essentials, making those weekend escapes just that little bit easier.
The property is serviced by tank water and mains sewage, while council rates are approximately $1,075 per year.
Then there’s the setting. Fresh air, changing seasons, brilliant skies and that unmistakable feeling that you’ve escaped somewhere completely different. Winter can bring snow, summer brings long days on the lake, and trout fishing is practically a way of life.
Whether you’re looking for a fishing base, a family weekender or simply somewhere to disappear to when life gets a little too busy, this is the sort of place that reminds you sometimes less really is more.
Pack the rods, load up the car and come and discover your own little piece of the Highlands.
