A residence of rare character, sustainable craftsmanship and breathtaking natural beauty, this architect designed five bedroom sanctuary sits amid 3 ½ acres (approx.) of lush greenery and rainforest wonder. Private, peaceful and utterly unique, framed by a fern gully landscape where Don Creek and Don River trace the boundary; this stunning lifestyle property feels deeply connected to the natural environment.
Designed with thoughtful passive solar principles, the double storey loft design of the home is wrapped in a wide verandah, not only adding charm but shading the residence in the heat, while winter sun streams through double glazing gently warming the interiors.
Constructed with Timbercrete bricks chosen for their striking aesthetic, fire resistance, insulation proporties and superior thermal mass, the home showcases reclaimed hardwood floorboards, century old front door and exceptional craftsmanship throughout, including curved plaster edges and bespoke timber detailing.
Beyond the welcoming entrance hall, ideal for coats and boots, discover a semi open living, dining and kitchen domain, complemented by a second carpeted lounge. Perfect for family cooking and entertaining, the generous kitchen features abundant bench space, walk-in pantry and quality stainless steel appliances including Bosch dishwasher. Whether relaxing with a book or sharing meals with loved ones, the soothing sounds of the river and uninterrupted outlook across year-round green lawns to the fern lined creek and rainforest create a setting of unmatched tranquillity.
Offering superb outdoor living and dining spaces, bifold windows and doors open the home seamlessly to the wide wraparound verandah, crafted in ironbark and merbau. The engaging loft-style design features three enchanting upstairs bedrooms under the roofline, each with beautiful dormer windows capturing treetop and gully views. The master suite enjoys its own walk in robe, additional wardrobe, ensuite with laundry chute and separate toilet, while the further bedrooms and study/living area share a family bathroom and separate toilet.
A guest bedroom on the entry level is served by a large bathroom and powder room alongside a beautifully fitted laundry, while the lower ground rumpus/fifth bedroom provides under house access and a large storage zone, ideal for creating a self contained space with kitchenette and bathroom if desired (STCA).
Year round comfort is assured through exceptional insulation, Timbercrete construction, wood heater, ceiling fans with summer/winter modes, thermocycle design and a split system for the hottest days. Practical features include an on-site fire bunker for peace of mind, double garage with workbench space and Tesla charger, single carport and two water tanks (45,000lt).
