59 Brownell Drive, Byron Bay

Perched high above the coastline 'The Wing House' is an extraordinary architectural residence commanding sweeping views across Wategos Beach, Byron Bay and the vast Pacific horizon. Oriented to the north, the home captures both golden sunrises and glowing sunsets, delivering a constantly evolving coastal outlook. Tucked within one of Byron's most tightly held enclaves and bordered largely by national parkland, this is a sanctuary of privacy and prestige, where cutting-edge design meets a relaxed coastal-rainforest setting. At the heart of the home is its defining architectural gesture - a dramatic wing-inspired roofline spanning 27.5 metres, designed to optimise natural ventilation, soft light and passive shading. Inside, the upper level reveals striking curved ceilings soaring up to seven metres, crowning an expansive open-plan living domain that flows effortlessly to an ocean-facing terrace and an impressive 22-metre lap pool. The main suite offers a peaceful retreat with walk-in robe and luxurious ensuite, complemented by a guest bedroom and a versatile loft space ideal for work or additional accommodation. The mid-level introduces a second living zone, kitchenette, three bedrooms and both indoor and outdoor bathing options, centred around a lush courtyard complete with outdoor bath and sauna. Below, a secure garage and extensive storage complete the home. Designed by Peter Stutchbury, every element has been carefully considered to deliver a residence of architectural significance and refined coastal luxury.
