Where Heritage Charm Meets Modern Sophistication
There are addresses that exist within a city's story — and there are those that helped write it.
Designed in 1931 by John Smith Murdoch and originally built as the Queensland Government Offices, this heritage-listed building carries a quiet authority that few inner-city addresses can claim. Transformed into an exclusive collection of hotel apartments, it offers something genuinely rare — the kind of character that can't be built new, paired with the comfort and finish of a fully renovated contemporary home.
Step inside and the apartment earns its reputation immediately. High ceilings create a sense of scale that opens the space upward, while large heritage windows draw in generous natural light that shifts warmly through the day. Timber floors, a composed neutral palette, and refined detailing give the interiors a calm, considered quality — the feeling of a home that has been thought through rather than simply fitted out.
The lounge and dining area is broad and inviting, with proportions that encourage you to settle in rather than pass through. The kitchen sits neatly alongside — sleek cabinetry, quality appliances, and a layout that handles both quiet evenings and effortless entertaining with equal ease. The master bedroom is private and well-proportioned, a genuine retreat at the end of the day. The bathroom, fully renovated, is the kind of space that makes mornings feel like a ritual — a dual-head shower, contemporary fittings, and finishes that feel more considered than standard.
For investors, the opportunity is as layered as the building itself. Currently operating as a successful Airbnb, the apartment also holds hotel letting pool eligibility and suits long-term tenancy — three distinct paths, in a location that supports all of them equally well. A building with this much history and a location this strong tends to speak for itself.
Directly opposite Central Station, connectivity here is effortless in every direction. Queen Street Mall, the Botanic Gardens, Queen's Wharf, and the city's finest dining and retail precincts are all within easy reach on foot. The Cross River Rail and Brisbane Metro will only deepen the value of an address already this well placed.
There are properties defined by what they offer. This one is defined by what it is — a piece of Brisbane's architectural legacy, fully reimagined for the way people live today.
