‘Clarendon Eyre’ is genuinely unprecedented, unmatched and almost certainly unrepeatable. Set on approximately 260 acres alongside the iconic Murray River in Northern Victoria, this property represents nearly 20 years of dedication by one family to creating and caring for their own private utopia. What stands out here, as soon as the gates open, is the depth of colour and the quality of the curation. The emerald green of the immaculate Santa Ana couch fairways and Mackenzie Bent grass greens, the gleaming white of the carefully groomed bunkers, the turquoise glow of the spectacular ornamental lake, and, as you progress down the sweeping exposed aggregate driveway, the golden light flickering through the redgums and grasses leading to a picturesque bend of the Murray. The mic-drop moment at ‘Clarendon Eyre’ is its golf course. Spanning some 40 acres and featuring five holes with multiple playing options, it was designed to replicate the surfaces of Augusta National – and it succeeds, with every blade of grass cared for by a full-time team using top-tier equipment, all of which can form part of the property’s sale. The house is perfect accompaniment to the splendour of the course – wrapped by shady verandas, enchanting gardens and rich with history. It is the amalgamation of two significant period buildings: the former Mornington Art Gallery and a charming weatherboard from Malvern that carried the name ‘Clarendon Eyre’ that were both shipped to the site and merged. Following a recent extensive refurbishment, it now stands as a pristine seven-bedroom, five-bathroom, ten-car-garage resort-style haven. It boasts high-end features including Kustom timber floors, porcelain benchtops, DIY auto blinds, Control4 smart technology and Sonos sound system, making it an ideal blend of private retreat and grand entertaining space. Beyond the golf course, there’s no shortage of entertainment with a tennis court, a heated pool and spa, an Olympic inbuilt trampoline, and cinema. The property also features an extensive palm tree collection, a seven double-door machinery shed, and commercial laundry. At less than three-hours drive or 45 minutes by helicopter from Melbourne, ‘Clarendon Eyre’ has hosted spectacular weddings, corporate golf days, long lunches and community fundraisers and with scope to do more if desired. Including what is perhaps the sweetest option of all - to continue its legacy as the private escape of one lucky family.
