A Piece of Townsville’s Architectural History - Distinctive architecture, generous family living and a wonderful setting close to the river. Discover a home with a story to tell. Tucked away at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in one of Aitkenvale's premier pockets, this spacious and distinctive property offers an exceptional blend of architectural character, family functionality and relaxed tropical living. Built in as the original Townsville TOMI display home, the property has a fascinating architectural heritage and was developed to respond to the challenges of tropical climates. Rather than simply adapting a conventional house to the tropics, this design embraces the environment. High ceilings, generous roof spaces, natural ventilation, shaded outdoor areas and flexible living spaces are all part of an architectural philosophy centred on comfortable tropical living. Set on a generous 926m² landscaped block, the home is arranged across three distinctive pyramid-style modules, connected by a spacious central open-plan kitchen, dining and family area. Inside, soaring ceilings, exposed beams and ceiling fans create an impressive sense of space, while the home's thoughtful layout encourages natural airflow and captures the cooling breezes from the river. The fully air-conditioned interior offers the best of both worlds: the benefits of the original tropical design alongside modern everyday comfort. The kitchen is the natural hub of the home, featuring a new induction cooktop, extensive storage, open shelving and three generous pantry cupboards. To one side of the kitchen, across the entrance foyer, is an enormous open-plan lounge or rumpus room. With louvre windows on all four sides and a view across the river, this versatile space captures natural breezes and enjoys a wonderful connection with the outdoors. Complete with its own external entrance, it offers exciting possibilities as a teenagers' retreat, games room, creative studio, home office or potential self-contained accommodation, subject to any necessary approvals. The primary bedroom is privately positioned in its own wing, providing a peaceful retreat with a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom. The third module provides three additional bedrooms, an informal lounge area and convenient access to the family bathroom – an ideal arrangement for children, guests or a growing family. There is also a spacious laundry/hobby and craft room, complete with additional storage in a mezzanine area. The gardens and outdoor living areas are every bit as appealing as the home's unusual architecture. With multiple inviting spaces to enjoy throughout the day, you can: • Start the morning with coffee in the leafy, private courtyard. • Entertain family and friends on the large covered patio. • Enjoy a refreshing swim in the family-sized inground pool. • Unwind with a cool drink in the shady gazebo. • Appreciate the landscaped gardens and views across the river.
